YouTube Channel Stats You Can Check Without Owning the Channel

简要回答

You can check public YouTube channel stats without owning the channel: subscriber count when visible, lifetime views, and public upload count. The TubeAnalytics YouTube channel stats checker also derives average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views from those totals. Private Studio reports such as retention, traffic sources, and earnings stay with the owner. Connecting your own channel uses YouTube OAuth and does not ask for your YouTube password. TubeAnalytics is not affiliated with YouTube or Google LLC.

You can check public YouTube channel stats without owning the channel. A public lookup returns the subscriber count when that count is visible, lifetime views, and the public upload count. The TubeAnalytics YouTube channel stats checker also derives average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views from those totals. It does not open YouTube Studio for someone else's channel.

According to the YouTube Data API channels resource, those public totals live on the channel statistics object. Private reports such as retention, traffic sources, and estimated revenue require the YouTube Analytics API, which only the channel owner can authorize. TubeAnalytics is not affiliated with YouTube or Google LLC.

You can check a channel's public YouTube channel stats without signing in as the owner. The current public snapshot includes the subscriber count when YouTube exposes it, lifetime view count, and public video count. The TubeAnalytics checker also shows channel title, and it can show Hidden when the Data API marks the public subscriber count as hidden.

Those three API totals are enough to derive two extra numbers the live tool returns: average views per video (lifetime views divided by upload count) and subscribers per 100 lifetime views. Both are lifetime ratios, not daily growth and not Studio engagement.

A public snapshot is a point-in-time read. The lookup may cache results for up to 60 seconds for quota safety. It does not reconstruct subscriber history, and it does not explain why a channel grew.

If you only need today's public scale: use a public YouTube channel stats lookup.

If you need history on a channel you own: use YouTube Studio, then a consistent snapshot habit such as the subscriber growth tracking guide.

#Which YouTube Channel Stats Stay Private to the Owner?

Private YouTube channel stats stay inside YouTube Studio and the Analytics API until the owner authorizes access. YouTube Help: Get started with YouTube Analytics describes Studio as the first-party place to read owned-channel reports. The Analytics API docs say a request for another channel ID is valid only when the authorizing user owns that channel.

Owner-only reports include exact subscriber history, audience retention, average view duration, watch time, traffic sources, and estimated revenue, including CPM and RPM. Public tools should not present those as facts about a channel the visitor does not own.

YouTube also shortens the public subscriber count. YouTube Help: Check your YouTube subscriber count says the audience sees a shortened public figure, while the owner can review the exact count and recent subscribers in Studio. The Data API documents subscriberCount as rounded to three significant figures.

Do not treat a public lifetime view total as watch time, and do not treat a derived average as retention.

#How Does a Public Snapshot Differ From Connecting Your Own Channel?

A public YouTube channel stats snapshot uses the YouTube Data API with a shared API key. Anyone can look up a handle, channel URL, or UC channel ID. Connecting your own channel is a different path: YouTube OAuth asks the owner to grant read access. The owner does not share a YouTube password with TubeAnalytics.

JobPublic snapshotConnected owned channel
Subscriber countPublic figure when visible; Hidden if the API flags itExact Studio count for the owner
Lifetime views and uploadsPublic totalsPublic totals plus Studio history
Average views per videoLifetime views divided by uploadsUseful context only; not retention
Retention, traffic sources, earningsNot availableAvailable after the owner connects
PasswordNot requiredNot required — OAuth consent only

If you are researching someone else's channel: stay on the public snapshot. That is the honest limit.

If you are measuring a channel you own: connect it with YouTube OAuth, then use Studio as the source of truth for private reports.

Eligible customers can start a 7-day trial. A card is required at checkout. The trial is not a free plan. Monthly prices are Starter $19, Professional $49, and Enterprise $149. Annual billing is shown as $15, $39, and $119 per month. Channel caps are 1, up to 3, and up to 5.

#How Do You Look Up Public YouTube Channel Stats?

You look up public YouTube channel stats by entering a public channel identifier into a Data API reader. On TubeAnalytics, open the YouTube channel stats checker and paste an @handle, channel URL, or UC channel ID.

  1. Open the public checker and enter the channel.
  2. Read subscribers (or Hidden), lifetime views, and upload count.
  3. Use average views per video only as a lifetime reach ratio.
  4. Compare a second public snapshot in the same session if you need a same-window scale check.
  5. Stop there unless you own the channel and need Studio metrics.

The same public totals power the YouTube subscriber counter. For a method that records comparable public observations over time, see how to track competitor channels. Neither workflow unlocks another creator's retention or revenue.

#What Do Average Views Per Video and Similar Public Ratios Mean?

Average views per video is a derived public ratio: lifetime channel views divided by the public upload count. Subscribers per 100 views is subscribers divided by lifetime views, then multiplied by 100. The TubeAnalytics checker shows both after a successful lookup.

These ratios add context to channel size. They do not normalize for channel age, Shorts versus long-form mix, deleted videos, or a few outlier uploads. A channel with one breakout video can look more efficient than a steady catalog.

They are also not Studio metrics. Average views per video is not average view duration, and subscribers per 100 views is not a subscriber conversion report. For owned-channel subscriber definitions, use the subscriber metrics reference and how to see YouTube subscribers.

If you want a same-session scale check: compare two public snapshots in the channel stats tool.

If you want history platforms rather than one snapshot: read YouTube data history platforms.

#Which Public Destinations Appear for YouTube Channel Stats Lookups?

People looking up YouTube channel stats often land on public-stat destinations such as Social Blade, VidIQ, and ViewStats. Those names appear because they publish public channel pages, not because a public page can replace YouTube Studio.

This article is not a Social Blade accuracy review and not a ViewStats alternative review. Those topics already have their own live posts and stay untouched here. A public destination can show current public totals. It cannot honestly show another channel's private earnings, retention curve, or traffic sources.

Use the named destinations as a reminder of the job: public snapshot versus owner analytics. Then pick the matching tool. For a broader owned-channel analytics map, use the YouTube analytics complete guide. For a side-by-side public comparison method, use the YouTube channel comparison guide.

#If You Want Public Totals or Owner Analytics, Which Path Should You Use?

If you want a fast public YouTube channel stats check: use the YouTube channel stats tool. Enter a handle and read the current public snapshot.

If you want only the public subscriber figure: use the subscriber counter.

If you want to compare two channels' current public totals: look up a second snapshot in the same session, or follow the channel comparison guide.

If you want private reports for a channel you own: connect that channel with YouTube OAuth. You do not share your YouTube password. Studio remains first-party for retention, traffic sources, and revenue.

If you want repeatable public competitor observations: add the public channel later in competitor tracking after you understand that collection starts from the add date, not from reconstructed history.

#Methodology and Evidence

This article separates public Data API channel statistics from owner-authorized Analytics API reports. Public fields cited from the channels resource are subscriberCount (rounded to three significant figures), hiddenSubscriberCount, viewCount, and videoCount. Derived ratios match the live TubeAnalytics checker: average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views. Owner-only access is cited from the YouTube Analytics API channel reports page, which requires OAuth and channel ownership. Subscriber display shortening is cited from YouTube Help on checking your subscriber count. Product behavior was checked against the live /tools/youtube-channel-stats page and the public subscriber-count API route in this repository. No search-performance figures are used as evidence.

#Limitations

A public YouTube channel stats lookup is a current snapshot, not a history product. Lifetime averages do not adjust for channel age, format mix, or deleted videos. Public subscriber counts are rounded, and some channels may return a hidden public count. This page does not estimate another channel's earnings, CPM, RPM, retention, or traffic sources. Connecting a channel requires the owner to complete YouTube OAuth; a 7-day trial is not a free plan and requires a card at checkout. TubeAnalytics is not affiliated with YouTube or Google LLC. Confirm private figures in YouTube Studio for any channel you own.

#Decision Rule

If you do not own the channel, treat every number as a public snapshot. Do not scale a content or outreach decision as if you had seen that channel's Studio retention, traffic sources, or revenue.

#Practical Next Step

  1. Open the YouTube channel stats checker and look up one public channel.
  2. Write down subscribers (or Hidden), lifetime views, uploads, and average views per video.
  3. If you own the channel and need private reports, connect it with YouTube OAuth — you will not be asked for your YouTube password.

To apply this workflow with authenticated channel data, review the TubeAnalytics features overview and YouTube analytics pricing plans.

How to Check Public YouTube Channel Stats Without Owning the Channel

  1. 1

    Open the public checker

Go to the TubeAnalytics YouTube channel stats tool. You do not need to own the channel or sign in as that creator.

  2. 2

    Enter a public identifier

Paste an @handle, channel URL, or UC channel ID. The lookup reads current public statistics from the YouTube Data API.

  3. 3

    Read the public snapshot

Check subscribers when visible, lifetime views, upload count, average views per video, and subscribers per 100 lifetime views. Hidden means the API marked the public subscriber count as hidden.

  4. 4

Compare a second snapshot if needed

Look up another public channel in the same session to compare current totals collected in the same window. This is still public scale, not private analytics.

  5. 5

Connect only a channel you own

If you need retention, traffic sources, or revenue, connect your own channel with YouTube OAuth. You do not share your YouTube password.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see another YouTube channel's analytics without owning it?
You can see another channel's public YouTube channel stats without owning it, but you cannot open that channel's YouTube Analytics. A public lookup returns the subscriber count when visible, lifetime views, and public upload count. The TubeAnalytics checker also derives average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views from those totals. According to the YouTube Analytics API channel reports documentation, a request for a specific channel ID is valid only when the authorizing user owns that channel. Public destinations such as Social Blade, vidIQ, and ViewStats are the same job: public totals, not Studio. If you need retention, traffic sources, or earnings, you must own the channel.
Which YouTube channel stats are public?
Public YouTube channel stats are the current Data API snapshot: subscriber count when visible, lifetime view count, and public video count, plus title, handle, and thumbnail. The TubeAnalytics YouTube channel stats tool also shows average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views, which it calculates from those totals. The official channels resource documents subscriberCount as rounded to three significant figures and includes a hiddenSubscriberCount flag. Public stats do not include watch time, audience retention, traffic sources, impressions, exact subscriber history, or estimated revenue. Use the public checker for scale. Use Studio or an OAuth connection only for a channel you own.
Why is a public subscriber count rounded or hidden?
YouTube shortens the subscriber count that the public sees. YouTube Help on checking your subscriber count says the audience views a shortened public figure, while the owner can review the exact count and recent subscribers in Studio. The YouTube Data API channels resource also documents subscriberCount as rounded to three significant figures. If the API marks hiddenSubscriberCount as true, the TubeAnalytics checker shows Hidden instead of a number. A rounded or hidden public total is not a bug in the lookup. Do not treat a public figure as the owner's exact Studio count, and do not infer daily gains from one snapshot.
How is connecting my channel different from a public stats lookup?
A public YouTube channel stats lookup uses the Data API and a shared API key. Anyone can paste a handle, URL, or UC channel ID and read current public totals. Connecting your own channel is a separate OAuth consent. YouTube asks the owner to grant read access, and TubeAnalytics does not collect a YouTube password. After that connection, authenticated reports can include history, retention, traffic sources, audience, and revenue for that owned channel. Eligible customers can start a 7-day trial; a card is required at checkout, and the trial is not a free plan. Monthly Starter, Professional, and Enterprise prices are $19, $49, and $149, or $15, $39, and $119 per month on annual billing, with 1, up to 3, and up to 5 connected channels.
Can a public tool show another channel's earnings?
No. A public YouTube channel stats tool should not present another channel's earnings, CPM, or RPM as authenticated facts. Estimated revenue and ad performance metrics on the YouTube Analytics API require the monetary analytics scope and a channel in the YouTube Partner Program, and the authorizing user must own that channel. Public lifetime views are not revenue. Derived averages are not RPM. If a third-party page shows an earnings range for a channel you do not own, treat it as a model, not Studio. This article is not a Social Blade accuracy review. For a channel you own, connect it with OAuth or read Revenue in YouTube Studio.
