YouTube Channel Stats
Turn a public channel URL into a useful performance snapshot
A public snapshot is not a growth history or access to private analytics. Save public channels for competitor tracking to review comparable observations over time; collection starts after you add a channel.

Understanding the result and its limits
A YouTube channel stats lookup combines the current public metrics YouTube exposes for a channel: subscriber count when visible, lifetime views, and public upload count. This tool derives average views per video and subscribers per 100 lifetime views from those totals. It does not provide private watch time, retention, traffic sources, revenue, or subscriber history.
How YouTube Channel Stats works
- 1
Enter a channel
Paste an @handle, channel URL, or UC channel ID.
- 2
Read public totals
See subscribers, lifetime views, and uploaded video count from the official API.
- 3
Compare efficiency
Use average views per video and the subscriber-to-view ratio to add context to channel size.
- 4
Compare a Second Snapshot
Look up a second channel in the same session to compare current public totals collected in the same window.
- 3
- Public API totals in one lookup
- 60 sec
- Short cache window for quota safety
- Read-only
- Official public YouTube data
Example scenarios
Illustrative examples, not customer results.
Creator
Challenge: You need a fast benchmark for another channel
Approach: Check public scale and reach before adding the channel to competitor tracking.
Agency
Challenge: You need to qualify a creator before outreach
Approach: Verify public subscribers, views, uploads, and average reach from one URL.
Channel owner
Challenge: Public totals do not explain performance
Approach: Connect the owned channel to move from totals into CTR, retention, traffic, and revenue.
Evidence and Validation
The method, inputs, and limitations are documented on this page so you can separate a calculation, public API snapshot, or browser-only file check from authenticated channel analytics.
- Formulas and derived metrics are shown beside the result
- Public, estimated, and authenticated data are labeled separately
- Page reviewed 2026-09-01; current platform values should be verified in YouTube Studio
Frequently asked questions
- What YouTube channel statistics are public?
- The YouTube Data API exposes a channel's public subscriber count, total views, video count, title, handle, and thumbnail. It does not expose private watch time, retention, traffic sources, exact revenue, or exact subscriber history.
- Can I see another channel's YouTube Analytics?
- No. Private analytics require authorization from the channel owner. Public tools can analyze visible channel and video data, but should not present estimates as authenticated metrics.
- Why is the subscriber count rounded?
- YouTube rounds public subscriber counts above 1,000. Third-party tools receive the same rounded public value; only the owner sees the exact count in YouTube Studio.
- How do I track channel growth over time?
- A public API lookup returns the current snapshot only. Use YouTube Studio for an owned channel's history, or record comparable public snapshots consistently over time. This tool does not reconstruct past counts.
