For example, 50,000 views with a four-minute average view duration equals about 3,333 watch hours. This estimate explains the arithmetic but is not a substitute for the qualified public watch-hours total in YouTube Studio's Earn tab, which applies YouTube's eligibility rules and exclusions.

If your monthly watch hours are 400+, you're building toward the threshold despite the rolling window.

- Watch time and views answer different questions. Views measure starts, while watch time measures total consumption.
